Dimensional Manga Feature Part 2

What do you have planned?

We asked Dimensional Manga some questions and here are the answers they gave us.

1. How did Dimensional Manga come about, what inspired you?

There were a fair few reasons, most notably though it was because I wanted to make anime but had no contacts within the industry. It was as if I was living on a desert island desperately trying to make myself heard. The next best thing therefore, was for me to create manga and open the gateway from the west to the east. Low and behold, Dimensional Manga was born. My inspiration stemmed from continuous redundancy in mundane jobs. This seemed to me an indication that I was not 'set out' for the norm and I needed to fulfill my aspirations in some other form. This naturally led me to create manga and achieve some kind of fulfillment. There have been quite a few manga/anime which I took a liking to and thought I want to provide something groundbreaking and different for readers to experience. All in all, manga is something I am very passionate about and this is expressed greatly in our books.

2. What are your goals as a company?

We wish to take our products as far as we can go. As any ambitious person would say, Anime, Japan and Hollywood are the targets, so why can't we say the same, right? First and foremost, we want readers to experience fresh, new, challenging titles that are bound to impress.

3. Where did you find the authors for the Manga you produce?

Ironically, the company owner (me) is also the one and only author, so we have a company owner who is passionate about Manga, good combination I reckon.

4. Are you still recruiting, what should a prospective applicant do to prepare before they apply?

Not particularly. We're still looking for people whom we could possibly work with in the future, but at present our aims are pretty precise. That said, don't be afraid to hand in portfolios, because you never know what may come up in the future and it may be you, getting that sudden phone call for a manga artist. Portfolio is the keyword here to be honest, past experience needn't be an issue.

5. Is there a specific genre that you intend to release and who are your target audience?

It's pretty much dependent on the title. But if I was to say anything about these titles it's that they are largely flexible, from having a variety of highly intelligent text and philosophies, to large amounts of comedy too. Expect plenty of action sequences to provide thrills and suspense. So the target audience I guess is pretty simple in that sense, the Manga audience in general, being a fan of Naruto, Bleach, Dragonball Z, Deathnote, I'd say if any one likes any of those, then DP:COG (Demon Prince: Children of Gaia) will provide plenty for you to enjoy and more! We do have titles that will suit all tastes form sci-fi to drama to comedy, coming out in 2009. We have 14 manga books coming out next year, every month or more! Be sure to look out for us.

6. We will be attending the MCM Expo in October. By this time what do you hope to have achieved?

By then we would have wanted to raise more awareness of Dimensional Manga within the manga/anime community and get people to know who we are and what we are about. This would be great before our official launch in January. So all you manga nuts out there check us out and give us a shout!

Also are they any big releases planned for then?

Bear with us, our first big release will be in January and that will be Hero Complex- the title everyone's being waiting for! I'm sure we will get sneak previews available for those of you who can't wait! Exciting times ahead for the UK manga scene.
